Seva for the Season

Posted on December 7, 2010

This time of year amidst the hustle and bustle of life many of us allow ourselves to take a moment to reflect on the gifts we have been given, the struggles we have endured, the grace and acceptance we have found, and the promise for the future.
If you are in this process or have been in the past please consider setting a holiday intention of seva, the yogic art of selfless service. There are so many opportunities to give back this season, and so many reasons to do so. Seva not only nurtures the world around us, but nurtures the soul as well. It allows for that inner light to permeate and radiate out. Here is an opportunity presented by a local yoga teacher and seva devotee, Carrington Jackson:

Hello My Friends,
I hope this note finds you all bundled and cozy on this winter day. As I type this I’m looking out my front windows watching the afternoon visit I get daily of at least 5 deer and feeling so grateful for this wonderful home of mine. I am also feeling very grateful for the chance to build with Habitat for Humanity and don’t think it could have come at a better time. So many families without homes. Without jobs. Without hope. Let us give them some hope, shall we? Please help us build with Habitat for Humanity on Saturday December 18th from 8:30-4:40. If you know that you can help, please sign up online as we have to get them final numbers soon. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. To sign up go to:
